In 2020, Tianjin's 3D printing output value will reach 1.5 billion yuan.

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, has become a core technology in the new industrial revolution in recent years. Its unique advantages enable close integration with new networks, advanced materials, and digital manufacturing. Our city's 3D printing related technologies started at the end of the last century. After years of development, we have established a certain foundation in 3D printing materials, equipment, and processes. Annual service revenue from 3D printing exceeds 100 million yuan, serving over 200 domestic users. However, overall, the 3D printing industry in our city is still in its infancy, occupying a small share of the national market and lagging significantly behind advanced countries and regions.

3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, has been closely integrated with new types of networks, advanced materials, and digital manufacturing in recent years due to its unique advantages, gradually becoming a core key technology in the new industrial revolution. Our city's 3D printing related technologies started at the end of the last century. After years of development, we have established a certain foundation in 3D printing materials, equipment, and processes. Annual service revenue from 3D printing exceeds 100 million yuan, with business involving more than 200 domestic users. However, overall, our city's 3D printing industry is still in its infancy, occupying a small share of the national market, and there is a large gap compared with advanced countries and regions.

In order to narrow this gap, the Municipal Commission of Industry and Information Technology has compiled and issued the "Tianjin 3D Printing Industry Development Three-Year Action Plan (2018-2020)", proposing to strengthen the cooperation and innovation mechanism of industry, academia, research, and application, and to improve the technological level of 3D printing manufacturing processes with significant needs and broad application prospects. Focusing on the major needs of our city's aerospace, automotive, and medical industries, we will increase investment in material preparation, focusing on high-quality metal 3D printing dedicated material preparation technology, breaking through the technical bottleneck of material deep processing, adapting to the needs of future industrial development, and accelerating the independent research and development and innovation of high-temperature refractory materials, high-strength materials, and optoelectronic functional materials.
